Chavala Yaduma.... YOUNG AND RESTLESS

People often say that they find it hard to make decisions.

Unfortunately we all have to make decisions all the time, ranging from trivial issues like what to have for lunch, right up to life-changing decisions like where and what to study, and who to marry.

Some people put off making decisions by endlessly searching for more information or getting other people to offer their recommendations.

Chavala Yaduma is a 24 years old lawyer, filmmaker, actor and a humanitarian.

"I am also the founder of the production company ‘Vala films’ and co founder of the clothing brand ‘Chavala’".

Sometimes finding ones path in life becomes so difficult that other paths looks so perfect like it’s ours.

“For a long time, I didn’t know what I wanted and to be honest to some extent I still don’t. I have tried so many things over the past years and most of it didn’t work out. I can remember going for an audition back in 2015 when I completely blanked out cause I was so nervous, couldn’t even remember my name and I went home to cry, calling myself all sorts of names and telling myself I knew TV wasn’t for me. If I had given up then, I wouldn’t have come this far. Looking back now, I’m glad some of those things didn’t work out because I wasn’t ready at all, I needed those mistakes to build and I’m happy with the progress so far.

How Does your work add Values to the Society?

As a filmmaker and actor, I believe I create opportunities for people like me in the industry because most of the people I have worked with so far have not gotten the opportunity to show the world their craft yet. This helps us learn and build together.

For me, my major challenge is getting to understand and work with people and also getting them to be on my pace. I consider myself to be a very goal oriented person and my love for things to be done with enthusiasm, but getting people to work with the same energy can be a bit challenging.

There are so many people I look up to in the film industry, I have Tyler Perry and Ava Duvernay: This is because I find their stories to becoming successful very fascinating and inspiring.
Their body of work is also really amazing and most times I try to take notes from how they tell their stories.

Yes. Everyone has a story and what makes it a story is the fact that they held on till the successes started coming.
